Fish Identification - Spanish Mackerel

Spanish Mackerel 

Scientific Name
Scomberomorus commerson

Characteristics 
Body varies from bright blue to a dark grey in colour. Narrow grey wavy bars are present of each side of the fish .
The large dip in the lateral line below the second dorsal fin is a clear feature of the Spanish Mackerel.

Size
This is the largest of the Aussie Mackerels, max length is approximately 2.4m and 70kg in weight.
